“PV CYCLE GLOBAL MEMBERSHIP FULFILLS ITS COMMITMENTS”
russels, August 9 – 2019
End of 2017 PV CYCLE launched PV CYCLE GLOBAL MEMBERSHIP to ensure a complete life cycle of solar panels put on the market beyond the WEEE territories.
Within merely one and a half years, PV CYCLE shows its capability and determination in the international PV waste management by collecting and processing 3 tons of end-of-life PV modules from Panama and more than 25 tons from Senegal.
These modules will be treated mainly with mechanical processes including grinding, sorting and refining etc, which have been proven as the most feasible and cost-efficient recycling solution.
Founded by and for the PV industry in Europe, PV CYCLE is pioneer and a key player in European PV waste managment and today confirms its international leading position thanks to its ability to offer sustainable services in any corner of our planet.
Since the establishment of PV CYCLE, more than 30,000 tons of PV waste have been processed. By 2030 150,000 tons of PV modules will reach their end of life. With dedicated treatment, there will become raw materials such as glass, aluminum, copper, plastics and so on, which can be used for the production of new materials and products.
“The photovoltaic industry is entering a new era. It is time to realize that producing green energy from solar panels but abandoning the used materials in the nature does not make sense. At PV CYCLE we contribute to looking for PV waste and decreasing enviromental footprint all around the globe”
said Bertrand Lempkowicz, Communication Manager of PV CYCLE.
